About me.
Fair to say that my career has taken a fair few organic twists since graduating back in the 90's. An art lover from an early age, I progressed to study a degree in Illustration and design. Having spent years throwing paint at canvas, developing photos in dark rooms until the late hours and drawing people in small studios, I bought a big grey desktop G3 AppleMac in 1999.

Employment.
Early roles across Hampshire included being the first on-site graphic designer at FatFace working across:

Store front design
Merchandising
Online integration
Brand strategy definition.

Back to London.
Subsequent creative roles varied from in-house/agency side across Central London where web design and ecommerce was on the rise. I dipped my head under the water and began:

Hand coding newsletters in good old plain html before the welcome rise of CSS
Financial and annual report design/production
CMS setup
SEO
Analytical reporting
Event marketing
Exhibition stand design

After many years working in my favourite city I got myself registered as a freelance designer/digital consultant and I travelled the world. First stop Tokyo. I recall with fond memories building a website from an old PC in a crammed, very hot, internet cafe in central Saigon. Travel continued cross Asia and down to Australia & New Zealand and then across to North America.

Freelance Marketing/digital consultant roles agency and client side including the likes of:

The University of Portsmouth and Exeter
Penhaligons
Group 4
BigGreenSmile.com
Emafyl
Computacenter
Biomni
Dealogic
LGC /LGC promochem
Umbrella
Radley Yeldar
Light and Coley
Jambo Safaris

The South West.
Now, living in the South West, married and a father of 2, my career has been concentrated in digital and marketing management roles across b2c retail outlets and B2b trade oriented setups. The creative element has evolved. Deadlines still remain paramount. The culmination of idea, budget, design, app, website, social media, PR and advertising into one creative campaign is where the big win lies and ultimately what I look to now to fulfill commercially creative and rewarding work. In my spare time I take many photographs of the night sky and still sketch people on the train.

Current skills/responsibilities include:

Project/launch management
Exhibition design and full event management
Retail outlet POS / Store merchandising
External agency management
Marketing team management
Internal communications
Google analytics reporting
Digital strategy
Social Media planning and content strategy/implementation
Technical onsite SEO
Content strategy
