Talking art and urban sketching on BBC Radio Somerset

This week kicked off with a real surprise as I was invited to join the host of BBC Radio Somerset breakfast show, Claire Carter, to comment on my urban landscape art and the basis around urban sketching. With a new stunning new  dragon sculpture recently unveiled by the talented chainsaw sculptor Matthew Crabb, art and town culture has come under some debate.  It was a pleasure to discuss with Claire how I believe we should embrace every effort to enrich where we live with expressive art. Listen to the radio interview here and let me know your thoughts.

My recent sketch of the newly developed Coal Orchard riverside area in Taunton caught the eye of the BBC and we discussed the ethos behind drawing on location, capturing a personal view of the urban space and more specifically how I like to work with fast and fluid mark making, continuous line drawing and of course, bold colour use influenced by the day, the weather or simply just my mood.
