Something that recently rekindled my sketching enthusiasm was a lovely approach from a brand I have not worked with before, Meeden Art. I’m fortunate enough to have brands and influencer channels ask about promoting their products in a gifted exchange - much more prevalent these days and the ‘social proof’ is a helpful signal of trust. I’m very wary however of not accepting most approaches - the majority are not particularly aligned to my brand. This collaboration requirement was to simply try out the paint set and broadcast the outcomes. As discussed in my book, I’m very wary that it’s far too easy to use the excuse of ‘lack of the right kit’ as a barrier to just simply go sketching but I was happy to use this set and keep it on hand for future work.

I tried out a set of 96 watercolours! - a modular unit that can be aligned to suit your goto palette and also ideal to pop in the bag separately when on the move, urban sketching. I also tried out their cold press paper which was a little fiddly to open and use given the manufacture but once open handled my heavy wash technique like a pro! No buckling pages and no loose fibres. Very happy result.
